Information technology and museums: The State Historical Museum to launch virtual tours

The State Historical Museum located on Red Square in Moscow, until the end of 2016 will develop virtual tours. Visitors will be able to make an individual tour by downloading a browser on a mobile gadget.

Until the end of the year, such a system is also implemented in the St. Basil's Cathedral and the Museum of the Patriotic War of 1812. Members of virtual tours in great detail see the personal belongings of Kutuzov and Napoleon.

"For the modern viewer with different individual needs it is being developed information and multimedia-navigation guide. It will allow museum visitors to choose their interesting displays, receive extensive information on individual exhibits, viewing their images in minute detail", - the City Hall reports.

A pilot project will be an exposition dedicated to the epoch of Nicholas I. It features personal belongings of Nicholas I, as well as memorial exhibits of prominent figures of the time. The participants of the virtual tour will be sufficient to pass the link that will be placed in the public domain on the official website of the museum.

As part of a unified navigation system in the halls of the State Historical Museum will be also installed multimedia interactive tables, with which you can navigate in the space of exposure, to get more information about the exhibits and events associated with them, the historical period, which is devoted to one or another of the museum hall.
