13 April 2016

April 13, 2016 in the business district of "Romanov Dvor" (the Moscow Museum) is opening an exhibition of historical pictures "Old Moscow", organized by the Moscow City Museum and the international investment and development holding RD Group.

The exhibition "Old Moscow" features vintage photographs of the legendary forms of the capital, the streets and buildings that emphasize the history of architecture. With the pre-revolutionary phototypes today's audience appear Kremlin panorama, Chinatown, Zamoskovorechye, views of Varvarka, Nikolskaya, Lubyanka, Tverskaya and Mokhovaya.

The exposition shows the selected photos from unique albums of Nicholas Naydenov, a Moscow businessman, publisher and local historian. His works formed the basis of the capital's local history and to this day serve as visual aids to modern Moscow historians. It was on the initiative of Naydenov that in 1877 was organized a large-scale photographing of all the surviving temples, churches and monasteries of Moscow, which are presented in the exhibition "Old Moscow".

Holding the photo exhibition in the business district of "Romanov Dvor" is symbolic. "Romanov Dvor" is a prime example of the implementation of the idea of respect for the historical and architectural heritage of the capital and the harmonious integration of modern buildings in the urban space of old Moscow.
