
To the 55th anniversary of the first manned flight into space: The exhibition of painting “Space and the worlds” in Moscow
55 years ago on April 12, 1961, at 9 hours, 7 minutes in the morning from the Baikonur cosmodrome in the steppes of the Kazakh SSR, the 27-year-old Yuri Gagarin was the first in the world made his legendary space flight, having opened to humanity the way to the stars.
To celebrate the anniversary of this great breakthrough of the XX century and in the context of the anniversary program Roskosmos "Gagarin. Let's go!" the Exhibition Center of the Library for Foreign Literature (Moscow) from April 5, 2016 is presented an exhibition of paintings by Igor Khimich "Space and the worlds".
Igor Fedorovich Khimich – well-known Moscow artist, member of the Union of Artists of Russia, International Fine Arts Association AIAP UNESCO, Professional Artists' Union and the Union of Moscow artists. Active participant of personal and collective exhibitions, Igor Fedorovich combines his creativity with teaching - a professor at the Moscow State University of Culture and Arts.
One of the central themes of creative searches of Igor Khimich - spatial environment and the theme of the universe. Pictures of the cosmological series are non-figurative compositions, in which the artist actively operates on color and texture painting surface. Such compositions as "Allegory of the Universe" (1992), "Volcano" (1997), "Green Field" (2000) allow the viewer to evaluate the stylistic diversity of the artist.
At the exhibition "Space and the Worlds" are presented paintings by Igor Khimich started at different times.
The exhibition will run till April 24, 2016.
