To the 71st anniversary of Great Victory: The exhibition “Defenders of the Fatherland in art of I. I. Mashkov” in Volgograd

The I. I. Mashkov Volgograd Museum of Fine Arts from May 9, 2016 presents the exhibition "Defenders of Fatherland in art of I. I. Mashkov", dedicated to the Day of the Great Victory and the 135th anniversary of the birth of I. I. Mashkov.

In the space of an interactive exhibition "Workshop of Mashkov" presents paintings and graphic portraits painted by Ilya Ivanovich Mashkov (1881-1944) in the Moscow military hospitals during 1942-1944. They belong to the most recent, little friend a wider audience to the creative period of the artist.

The works are part of an extensive series, which included, according to the artist, about 50 works created during the preparation of a large composite picture "In the hospital". The artist painted and drew portraits of military doctors, wounded, nurses, nurses in the First Moscow evacuation hospital and hospital sorting № 290, there the exhibition took place.
