Society and culture: The XVIII International conference “Study of the work of M. A. Sholokhov at the present stage” to be held in the Rostov region

7-9 September 2016 will be held the XVIII International scientific-practical conference "The study of work of M. A. Sholokhov at the present stage: problems, concepts and approaches" ("Sholokhov Readings"). The conference will be held at the M. A. Sholokhov State Museum-Reserve (the Rostov region).

The main directions of the conference:

-  New approaches to the study of work of M. A. Sholokhov.

- Modern interpretation of Sholokhov's works and images.

- Trends and Prospects of the study of biographies, creative and social activity of M. A. Sholokhov.

- International recognition of creativity of M. A. Sholokhov.

- The study of creativity of M. A. Sholokhov in higher and secondary school.

- M. A. Sholokhov: foreign and domestic literature in the XX-XXI centuries.

- "The Don Stories" by M. A. Sholokhov in the perception of modern readers (to the 90th anniversary of the publication of the first collection of short stories by Sholokhov "Don stories").

- Cinematography "readings" of M. A. Sholokhov’s works: history and modernity.

- The story of M. A. Sholokhov "Destiny of a Man" in the context of spiritual and moral quest of today (to the 60th anniversary of the first publication of the story).

- Manuscript legacy of M. A. Sholokhov "And Quiet Flows the Don" (to the 90th anniversary of the start of work on the manuscript of "And Quiet Flows the Don" novel) in study of the dynamics of the text.
