History and culture: Exhibition "Easter on the island of Izmailovo" in Moscow
In the Small Exhibition Hall in Izamailovo (the Moscow State Integrated Museum-Reserve) is held an exhibition "Easter on the island of Izmailovo" (Victor Matorin landscapes and decorative arts from MGOMZ funds), which will continue its work until June 12, 2016.
The objective of the exhibition - to convey the mood of the audience of the Easter celebration. The Izmailovo contains paintings by V. Matorin and copper icon of the XIX century, Easter eggs and cases of early XX century.
Easter mood – is the joyful encounter with life, and the beauty of the spring, it is very close to the combined content of many works by V. V. Matorin, including "Easter", "The April sun", "Spring". Subject of the greatness and eternal values of Orthodoxy in Russian culture is revealed in the works of the artist "Russian Square", "…And everybody thought that the tower itself was floating through the air".
