The unique curved scanner was designed by "Roux-Scan" experts of the Tyumen State University and the Sverdlovsk company to digitize rare archival documents and antique books.
The scanner is installed in TSU Library and is V-shaped metal cradle in which the book is put down cover. Top of page clamped curved glass. Scans text a special program installed on a regular computer. The minimum angle of rotation of pages suitable for scanning - 90 degrees. Sam scanner can withstand a book or binder up to 30 kg.
Work on it is possible with books in different formats, the expert himself sets the parameters of the pages not only before scanning, but also during the process. It is important that the scanning camera mounted on the cradle book itself, they do not need to rebuild manually.
The first tests of equipment have a unique spring 2016. With the help of the scanner 830 metric were digitized books of Yekaterinburg diocese of the XVIII - XX centuries the total volume of about 136 thousand pages.
