Museums of Russia: The exhibition “The Alexander Palace in Tsarskoye Selo and the Romanovs. The story to be continued” in the Museum-Reserve “Tsaritsyno”

June 29, 2016 at the Museum-Reserve "Tsaritsyno" (Moscow) is opened the exhibition "The Alexander Palace in Tsarskoye Selo and the Romanovs. The story to be continued".

Big Tsaritsyno Palace, which has not had a chance to become an imperial residence, takes a unique collection of items from the Alexander Palace, remembering several generations of the royal Romanov family.

More than 700 items, including grandiose paintings of European and Russian masters, porcelain of the XVIII and XIX centuries, the palace furniture, uniforms of emperors, as well as original letters, diaries, drawings, watercolors, copybooks, notes and photos are stored touch of a bygone age and personal history the imperial family.

Unprecedented in scale and duration of the museum tour will allow Muscovites show home life of the royal country residence. The exhibition in Tsaritsyno - is a story told in two acts. The second part of the exhibition will be open at the end of 2016 and will be dedicated to the last months of the life of Nicholas II and his family in the Alexander Palace - from Christmas to parting with her beloved home on departure into exile in August 1917.
