Exhibitions: The exposition “Golden Age of Russian animalism” at the State Darwin Museum

The State Darwin Museum (Moscow) from 25 June 2016 invites to visit the exhibition "The Golden Age of Russian animalism".

The large-scale exhibition invites you to go on winding routes linking in time and space the art of the ancient world, the East and West with the Russian animal art of the XX century. For the first time on the same site will be shown all the major artistic styles and trends (since the first homo sapiens to classical art) 200 masterpieces of animalism. Many valuable exhibits from the rich collection of paintings, graphics, sculptors, and arts and crafts of the Darwin Museum will be exhibited for the first time. 

The XX century was Gold for Russian animalism and lit on the artistic horizon of a bright galaxy of names of artists who collaborated with the Darwin Museum, which can rightly be called the center of the development of domestic animalistic school at the time. Antiquity and Ancient Egypt, the art of the East and Primitive art, culture of primitive peoples, and then the folk art was opened to domestic animal painter again.

Many new ideas and artistic techniques were scooped by modern animal painters in the traditional culture of the peoples of the Far North, Africa, Oceania, Australia, and, of course, in Russian folk art.
