Society and culture: The exhibition “Infographics in Russia. From hagiographic icons to postmodern” in Moscow
The All-Russian Museum of Decorative-Applied and Folk Art (Moscow) hosted the exhibition "Infographics in Russia. From hagiographic icons to postmodern". The exhibition presents examples of infographics of different time periods from the collections of the Museum, the Polytechnical Museum, studio work, "the Visual Ssience", the Agency effective communication "Infographics", Soviet political posters from the collection of Sergo Grigoryan and works with the International Festival of Comic "KomMission". SAMSUNG will present a unique project "Live Page", under which is carried out the visualization of Leo Nikolayevich Tolstoy's novel "War and Peace".
Five deployed in the exhibition space of the Museum exhibition sections describe the five most striking stages of the existence of domestic infographics. The section "Hagiographic icon and splint" presents various objects and sculptures made of wood, including hagiographic icon "Walking John the Divine", dating from the XVIII century from the collections of the Russian Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Art. Infographics of 20s of the XX century is represented by exhibits from the Polytechnic Museum, the Soviet political poster - from a private collection of Sergo Grigorian.
The project's objective - to show the history of infographics in Russia, current trends in information design, infographics of scientific background as a universal meta-language. The project illustrates the use of infographics in virtually all areas of human activity, including the most complex aspects of the moral and social education. The exhibition aims to connect the past, the present and the future of history of the Russian infographics.
