The Year of Russian Cinema-2016: The historical and documentary exhibition “The most important of the arts: from the history of cinema adaptation of the Novgorod province and the region”

June 24, 2016 in the lobby of a small hall cinema center "Russia" in Veliky Novgorod is opened a historical and documentary exhibition "The most important of the arts: history of cinema adaptation of the Novgorod province and the region".

The first cinema show in Russia took place on May 4, 1896 in St. Petersburg and Novgorod residents were able to get acquainted with a new kind of art - a "moving picture" - only in 1910. The development of a network of cinemas, cinema construction of cinemas in the Novgorod province in 1920-193os years. It was aimed at enhancing the social role of the Soviet cinema, the solution of educational, educational and ideological objectives. 

The purpose of the exhibition: to show the history of the origin and development of the cinema network in the Novgorod province and the region and the organization of the film, the construction of theaters, cinema chains change repertoire and organization of work with the audience throughout the XX century.

The exhibition, prepared by specialists of the State Archive of the Novgorod region in commemoration of the Year of Russian cinema, copies of documents and photographs are exhibited in three sections: "Organization of the cinemas in the Novgorod province in the 1910-1918s". "The organization of the Soviet cinema activities in 1918-1930s", "Cinema circuit of the Novgorod region 1944-1989s".

The exhibition will run until October 31, 2016.
