History of Russia: In “Nutny-IV” excavation in Veliky Novgorod was first found the birch-bark scroll

The first birch-bark scroll on the excavation "Nutny-IV" in Veliky Novgorod was found on 7 June 2016 by Maria Kurbanova. The document was discovered in the sediments of the second quarter of the XIV century and contains 3 to read lines. Now the scroll, got the number 1081, is located in a desk of Laboratory of the Centre for the organization and provision of archaeological research of the Novgorod Museum Reserve in the preservation and interpretation department.

Last year at this excavation was made a wide range of findings of the XIV century. The works are carried out here since 2011.
