World History: “Joy and Sorrow Half-and-half…" historical and documentary exhibition in Minsk as part of the Days of Moscow

The historical and documentary exhibition "Joy and Sorrow Half-in-half…" is taking place from the 6th to the 8th of June 2016, within the framework of the Days of Moscow in Minsk.

The exhibition, timed to the Day of Memory and Grief - the 75-year anniversary of an outbreak the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, is prepared by the Main Archive Department of the city of Moscow on the documents of the Central State Archive of the City of Moscow with the participation of the Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations of Moscow.

Basing on the archival materials, the exposition heartfelt tells about one of the brightest chapters in the history of the brotherhood of the Russian and Belarusian peoples - the heroic struggle for freedom and independence in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

A distinguishing characteristic of the exhibition is that the exposition shows as the Belarusians participated in the Battle of Moscow, so the Moscow residents participated in the partisan resistance movement and the liberation of the Belarusian Republic.

A significant section of the exposition is dedicated to striking episodes of the partisan movement in the territory of the Byelorussian Republic, talks about the realities of war and everyday life of partisan forces.

Presented archive materials tell about the air-to-air engagements and hand-to-hand fights, tank attacks, meeting their liberators Belarusians in their returning to normal life cities and villages.
