The only museum on Mount of the Economic Activity of the monks on Athos was opened in Russian St. Panteleimon Monastery to the 1000th anniversary of Russian presence in the Holy Mount.

The museum occupies the three-storey building of the former monastery of the XIX century warehouse area of ​​2 sq. meters. In it were restored all workshops and shops that existed in the St. Panteleimon Monastery in the XIX-XX centuries. There were 39 of them.

In particular, there are recreated icon painting, sewing, carpentry, turning, blacksmith workshops, Photo shop, printing house. In the heyday of the monastery at the same time there were about 2 thousand monks and about 3 thousand workers and pilgrims.

The museum is located and the room-Russian Museum of St. Silouan. The last years of his life, when he was a steward Panteleimon Monastery, the old man lived in this building, where he also had his cell, which has been restored in its original form personal belongings of the elder Silvanus also presented recently and found the unknown original manuscripts of the Monk with his teachings, which have not yet been published.
