Memorable dates of Russia: The House of Historical Society in Moscow hosted events dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Society

June 2, 2016 in the new House of the Russian Historical Society is hosted an event dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Society.

"Russian Historical Society was established in the era of the Great Reforms - five years after the abolition of serfdom, and two years after the judicial and land reforms. For the first time at such a high level it has been tasked with a broad historical education", - said chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Historical Society Chairman Sergei Naryshkin, speaking at a meeting dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Russian Historical Society.

Speaking about the main problems of the restored Society, Sergei Naryshkin said: "This is not only a platform for interaction, but also a powerful resource to promote the professional interests of the historians themselves. The main among them is that Russian citizens owned a true picture of the past of our Motherland".

In the four years since the reconstruction of the Russian Historical Society under its auspices have been held hundreds of events, the concept of history teaching and implemented many projects anniversaries has been developed: the 20th anniversary of the Russian Constitution, the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory, the 100th anniversary of the First World War. In cooperation with the Russian military-historical society was started digitizing catalogs losses of the Russian army in the First World War.
