
To the Day of the Navy: The opening of the exposition on the cruiser “Aurora” to give start to the celebration of the 320th anniversary of the creation of the regular Russian flag
At the beginning of July 2016 in St. Petersburg chaired by Governor Georgy Poltavchenko and Chief of the Navy Vladimir Korolev was held a meeting on the custody of the ship of military glory of the Council of the cruiser "Aurora".
On the night of July 16, 2016 the cruiser was returned to the place of its eternal parking lot after a large-scale renovation.
According to the Navy Commander Vladimir Korolev, the opening of the renewed museum exhibition on the cruiser will launch a large-scale celebration of the 320th anniversary of the Russian regular fleet.
The exposition of a branch of the Central Naval Museum on the cruiser "Aurora" will be open to the public from August 3, 2016. It tells not only about the events of October 1917, but also about the entire history of the Russian Navy, the place of "Aurora" in the greatest and most tragic events of the XX century. These are battle of Tsushima, and the revolution, and during the Great Patriotic War. New part of the museum will be a medical unit in which the first X-ray equipment was used in the Russian Navy.
