Society and culture: Unique newsreel of the first half of the XX century in Yaroslavl

July 23 in the Yaroslavl Museum-Reserve was held a meeting "From the residence of Nicholas II to the arrival of Nikita Khrushchev: 50 years of history of Yaroslavl in newsreels" within the "Kinoleto" project.

At part of the meeting there were demonstrated unique shots of Yaroslavl newsreel specifically provided to show the State Archive of Yaroslavl region and the Russian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents.

Experts spoke about the very first shooting in Yaroslavl at the beginning of the XX century, as well as the key events in the history of the city that occurred between visits of top officials in 1913 and 1963, including a chronicle of spring 1917, the frame time of the White Guard uprising of 1918, weekdays and holidays of the Soviet Yaroslavl.

Visitors were able to learn how and where film rarities are preserved in our country, about the unexpected findings and discoveries.
