Information technology and archives: Highly valuable documents are digitized at the city archive on Komsomolsk-on –Amur

The "Komsomolsk-on-Amur city archives" have digitized more than 900 cases. The project experts of ELAR Corporation scanned 65 thousand pages, spent indexing of documents and PDF-formed book. Things are digitized for preservation and increase of access to them by the institutions users.

"In electronic form are converted documents of permanent storage period, which also granted the status of high-value, - said Natalia Smirnova, deputy director of the municipal archive institution "Komsomolsk-on-Amur city archive".

According to her, formed as a result of the digitization of cases PDF-files will be available in the archive reading room, and later - in remote mode via the Internet.
