History and culture: The exhibition “The Brothers Grimm – life and work” in the P. I. Tchaikovsky Museum-Reserve in Klin

22 July 2016

The P. I. Tchaikovsky State Memorial Museum-Reserve in Klin (the Moscow region) hosts the exhibition of "The Brothers Grimm - life and work", organized by the Society of the Brothers Grimm (Kassel, Germany).

The brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm are known throughout the world for their "Children's and Household Fairy Tale". They themselves did not compose them, but only treated those that recorded the words of the people, bypassing the villages and small towns. They managed to collect more than two hundred tales. And they were interested in not just a fairy tale, but the tradition of the German people, the history of native country, native language and literature.

The exhibition presents documents related to collecting and scientific work of the Brothers Grimm, the creation of fairy tales, as well as famous illustrations for some of them - "Little Red Riding Hood", "Sleeping Beauty", "Snow White".

The exhibition runs until the end of summer. Besides the exhibition, visitors can also watch the cartoons based on fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm, and receive a gift of coloring with favorite heroes of German fairy tales.
