Museums of Russia abroad: The exhibition of works by Marc Chagall is opened in the branch of the State Russian Museum

The exhibition features about 35 works of painting and sculpture from the collection of the Russian Museum and private collections.

It included works by Marc Chagall, created in the years of his life in Paris, as well as works written in his native Vitebsk.

In addition, the exhibition visitors can get acquainted with the works of famous painters and sculptors of the XX century: Nathan Altman, Isaac Asknaziya, Mark Antokolsky, David Shterenberg, Ilya Ginzburg and others.

A special exhibition will be complemented with Vitebsk Chagall room, which will be recreated with the help of original objects of the time stored in the Russian Museum collection.

The exhibition "Chagall and his Russian contemporaries" will run until November 6.

At the same time there is an exhibition "Cervantes in Russian art" timed to the 400th anniversary of the writer's death. The exhibition will feature 47 works of Russian painting and graphics of the XIX-XX centuries, which reflect the personality of the writer and his most famous characters: Don Quixote and Sancho Panza. In particular, the workshop will show works by artists Ilya Repin, Vera Ermolaeva, Stepan Galaktionov, Helium Korzhev.

The exhibition "Cervantes in Russian Art" will run until January 15, 2017.
