After his death, he became one of the most popular heroes of the Soviet folklore and literature. Facts of the life of this amazing man for a long time overgrew with a variety of myths and legends, many of which were written during his lifetime, including his own. Therefore Kotovsky biography still contains a lot of "white spots" and is the subject of scientific research.
