Information technology and museums: The new multimedia application “My Visit to Louvre” presented

One of the largest and most popular museums of the world - the Louvre - has released a free application for multimedia devices that will help visitors to find the shortest path to the major museum masterpieces.

The app is part of a project to make the Louvre more comfortable and accessible for the eight million people who annually visit the museum, about 80% of them - foreign tourists. The project also includes the reconstruction of the entrance area, which will shorten the time in the queue, the organization of Wi-Fi network.

The app "My visit to the Louvre" is available on iTunes and Google Play and contains information on more than 600 major exhibits, the database will be eventually expanded. The same application can be used for online ticketing.
