Lecture of the Museum of Faberge from July 12 to August 2, 2016 holds a series of lectures "Emperors of Russia and their entourage. From Nicholas I to Nicholas II", devoted to the personalities of the emperors themselves and their relationship with the immediate environment.

Russian culture of the mid XIX - early XX century is characterized by vivid references to the pre-Petrine era, the Byzantine heritage, ancient art and everyday life. Great influence on its formation had the Russian emperors. Their role in the political, social, economic and cultural history of the Russian Empire cannot be overestimated. Personality of the emperor, his relationship with his family and often approximate, determined attitude of society to the most important political and cultural events in Russia and abroad.
