
Memory of the world: The IX Early Medieval Culture Festival “Isaborg”
The IX Early Medieval Culture Festival Russia and its neighbors "Isaborg", which is held 2 and 3 July 2016 in Izborsk, will bring together about 130 reenactors from Pskov, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novgorod, Petrozavodsk, Saratov, Minsk, Tallinn.
This year's central event will highlight new interactive craft and commercial shops. All who wish will have the opportunity not only to watch the recreation of medieval processes, but also be able to take active part in them.
There will also be a parade-representation of participants of the festival, "The Battle squads" (indicative battle), military command competitions (triples competition, "Battle of the boats") and private military competition ("Circle of One").
The organizers of the festival are the museum-reserve "Izborsk", the Club of historical reconstruction "Manor" (Pskov) and "Valor and ever" (Tula), with the support of the Pskov Region Administration and the Russian military-historical society.
Festival "Isaborg" for the third year in a row is the winner of the regional contest for the best military-historical festival patriotic, conducted by the Russian military-historical society, and receives grant support for the implementation of the main activities of the program.
