Internet and society: The National Interactive Encyclopedic portal to be created in Russia

The government of Russia intends to create a new encyclopedic website on the basis of Russian scientific encyclopedias, including the Great Russian Encyclopedia. The corresponding decree is published on the official web portal of legal information.

According to the document signed by the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev on August 25, 2016, in order to create a "national scientific and educational interactive encyclopedic portal" is supposed to create a special interdepartmental working group.

It is expected that the working group will be headed by Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Sergei Prikhodko, and his deputies will be the deputy heads of the Ministry of Communications Alexei Volin, deputy head of Rospechat Vladimir Grigoriev and head of the department of culture of the government of Russia, Peter Skorospelov.

Also, the work on the project will be engaged in by representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Federal State Statistics Service, the Russian State Register, the Federal Agency of scientific organizations and the Russian Academy of Sciences.
