The Year of Russian Cinema: The exhibition “Cinema. Literature. Vintage costume” in Moscow
The State Pushkin Museum in Moscow on August 26, 2016 opens the exhibition "Cinema. Literature. Vintage costume" from the collection of the M. Gorky Central Film Studio for Children and Youth and the State Central Museum of Cinema.
The exhibition is timed to the Year of Russian cinema and opens on the eve of the Day of Russian Cinema. At the heart of the exhibition, where every exhibit is connected with the history of national cinema and Russian literature – is a great collection of vintage costumes of the Gorky Film Studio.
This unique collection, which has evolved over half a century, includes original garments of the XVIII - XX centuries and their accessories are of great interest to professionals and art lovers.
A special place in the filmography of the Gorky Film Studio took the film adaptation of literary works. Before the artists, who worked on these films, there was a problem, including using the suit to characterize the character, to promote disclosure of his image. Often it is the suit could convey a lot of nuances and meanings in the character of the hero, pointing to the social position of the hero on his psychological shape.
Over 70 exhibits at the exhibition provides cinema. Among them - sketches of scenery, costumes and film posters created in Gorky Film Studio Gorky in different decades.
