By the Day of the State Flag of the Russian Federation: “And we will praise forever in the ages the Russian tricolor standard” exhibition in Pskov

The Information Center of the Pskov Regional Universal Scientific Library has prepared an illustrative and book exhibition “And we will praise forever in the ages the Russian tricolor standard.”

The exhibition is dedicated to the Day of the State Flag of the Russian Federation, which is celebrated in Russia on August 22 each year. The holiday is set on the basis of the Decree of the President of Russian Federation dated August 20, 1994.

Literature, presented at the exhibition, tells about the state symbols of Russia and the history of the official symbol of an authority - the country's flag.

The monograph of N. A. Sobolev entitled “The Essays on the History of Russian symbolism: from a tamga to the symbols of state sovereignty” explains a detailed history of the Russian national flag in the context of the banners and flags of Europe and in accordance with the public events in Russia. The facts of historical background are submitted.

Book G. V. Vilinbakhov “A History of the Russian coat of arms and the flag” is dedicated to the history of the white-blue-red cloth of the State Russian flag. The publication is provided with a large number of illustrations, it contains historical material.

From the publication entitled “The symbols and regalia of Russia” the visitors of exhibition will learn about the first state and dynastic Russian flag in the XVII century - a white armorial banner with the image of Russian arms - the golden (black) two-headed eagle.

The exhibition runs until the 31st of August 2016.
