
Museums of Russia: The cultural and historical project “Peterhof gardeners” in the Farmer Palace of the Park “Alexandria”
The Farmer Palace of the park "Alexandria" on August 10, 2016 starts working the 32nd permanent exposition of the State Museum-Reserve "Peterhof". New cultural-historical project "Peterhof gardeners" is in the 15 rooms and offers guests to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of a summer holiday on the southern coast of the Gulf of Finland in the XIX - early XX centuries. More than 300 museum objects on display give an idea of the exceptional nature of the villa culture of these places.
The museum, which is the situation of residential quarters of Alexander II and his family, has been opened on the ground floor of the Farmer Palace in 2010. The interiors of the second floor are chronologically linked with the flourishing country life of Peterhof and became a space for the new museum. With extensive experience in innovative projects, Peterhof turned to recreating the countryside atmosphere of the turn of centuries with the help of modern technologies.
The new project tells the story of the inhabitants of summer Peterhof and what a country life in the city court department looked like. The exposition takes place according to the routine of country life from the metropolitan hustle and bustle of the station to the quiet evenings and measured a country holiday at the seaside. Guest of "Peterhof gardeners" will rise to the porch of a typical country house, will appear in the artist's studio, will visit the aristocratic ladies room and the boudoir, nursery, learn about fun and joy of summer Peterhof, its aromas, tastes and sounds, will feel the sadness of autumn parting with Peterhof.
The project "Peterhof gardeners" is aimed at family audiences and anyone interested in the life of St. Petersburg in the turn of centuries.
