The name "Partisan territory" firmly established in people's memory, in the history of the Great Patriotic War. It was the first country in the Soviet area, which arose in the enemy-occupied territory.

By August 1, 1941 it was created a Guerrilla region, the center of which was Dedovichsky District of the Pskov region. Guerrilla Territory occupied territory of 9600 square kilometers deep in the German rear. The territory stretches from north to south and 120 kilometers from west to east - 80 km. It covered the irregular rectangle between the cities Dno, Bezhanitsy, Hill and Staraya Russa, including part of the Novgorod land (almost all Belabelkovsky district and part of Poddorsky). First, there were no clear protected boundaries at the edges; the protection was forests and swamps. But then, when the guerrillas had to fight a defensive battle, as lines were trenches and ditches.

The edge consisted of 400 villages and towns, which population lived under Soviet law, united in 170 farms. They included village councils, 53 schools and health posts. Center of the region was the village Kruglovo.

The exhibition "Persistence and courage: to the 75th anniversary of the partisan territory" among other publications are books of famous writers of Pskov, whose fate is linked to the guerrilla movement.

The exhibition will run by the end of August.
