Internet and history: 3D model of the cruiser “Aurora” in the Network

The Internet is now available to view the unique 3D-model of the cruiser "Aurora" with a record detail, the press service of the Western Military District said.

Virtual tour of the legendary cruiser is available to everyone and allows us to see how the ship during the Russian-Japanese war looked like.

"The unique 3D-model of the first rank cruiser of the Baltic Fleet "Aurora" is available for viewing on a dedicated Internet resource, created with the support of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation and is available at крейсераврора.рф. In depth of detail 3D model is unique in the world", - said in a statement.

The district's press service specified that the materials to create 3D-models were provided by the Central Naval Museum, the Nakhimov Naval School, the Kronstadt Marine Plant, publishing naval literature "Gangut". For its creation were used more than 100 shop drawings and about 300 historical photographs.

Let us remind that the legendary cruiser on the night of July 16 returned to the place of eternal parking at Petrovskaya Embankment in the city center after a nearly two-year renovation that "Aurora" was held at Kronstadt sea plant.

Official opening of the renovated "Aurora" was held on July 31 on the Day of the Navy. The ceremony was attended by President of Russia Vladimir Putin. Regular tours of the historic ship began since 3 August.
