Libraries and Society: The XVI International Conference "Through Libraries - to the future" in Anapa

XVI International Conference "Through Libraries – to the future" takes place in the resort town of Anapa from September 26 to October 1, 2016. The conference is held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Russian Federation.

To participate in the conference are invited heads and specialists of national, republican, territorial, regional universal scientific libraries, libraries for children, youth and young adults, libraries of national literatures, libraries, educational institutions of all systems and departments, libraries, military units of the Russian armed forces, scientists in library science, new information technologies, writers, literary critics, publishers, representatives of media and film distribution.

Directions of the conference:

- Modern trends in the development of specialized library services for young people as the least socially and economically protected population groups;

- Multivariate model of public library in the context of creating conditions for socialization, providing youth access to information resources and creating an environment that meets the specific informational, educational, cultural, recreational needs of the younger generation;

- The role of books, reading and libraries in the intellectual, emotional, social, spiritual and moral, patriotic education of youth;

- Functional tasks, new services and functionality of the library as an intellectual and information complex, socially significant media and communication center for young people;

- Technological modernization of libraries in the functioning of the National Electronic Library;

- A system of professional competence of library professionals working with young people, in terms of introduction of digital technologies in the activities of libraries and the study.
