The Presidential Library: New acquisitions

Presidential Library collection has been enriched with newsreel from the Russian State Archive of Cinema and the State Archive of the insurance fund and audiovisual documents of the Pskov region.

Film documents Opening of the first convocation of the State Council and the State Duma April 27, 1906 (16 min. 23 sec.) is a black-and-white original negative first and only documentary filming public ceremony in the Russian Empire - the opening in St. Petersburg, the first meeting of the State Council and the State Duma of the first convocation of April 27, 1906. Shootings were made by cinematographer A. K. Jagielsky. Film was restored by the Russian State Archive of Cinema in 2013, restoring the director N. A. Mayorov. At the beginning of the film are presented the technological processes of recovery newsreel (scanning, processing, alignment, retouching, animation).

The chronicle captured takeaway in St George's throne room of the Winter Palace of the imperial regalia and Nicholas II output from the Empress Maria Feodorovna and Alexandra Feodorovna. Solemn liturgy makes Eminence Metropolitan Anthony, assisted by Metropolitan of Moscow - Vladimir, Kiev - Flavian, archbishops and bishops and clergy of the court. The emperor is seated on the throne. Minister of the Imperial Household V. B. Fredericks submits to the Emperor from the throne speech. Emperor is standing speech. After the speech from the throne, Nicholas II and Empress Maria Feodorovna and Alexandra Feodorovna in a ceremonial manner leave the St. George's throne room of the Winter Palace. Further, in the frame - a prayer service in the hall of the State Council meeting in the premises of the Noble Assembly. The first meeting of the State Duma of the first convocation is in the room of the Noble Assembly.  

It is also featuring newsreel of 1936, 1938, embodying the triumph of the church in the town of Pechora, which was part of at the time of the Estonia:

On the celebration of the Lord's Passover in the Pechora in 1936 (1 min. 39 sec.);

On the celebration of the Epiphany ceremony procession, blessing of water in the Pechora in 1938 (2 min. 16 sec.);

On the ceremony procession in the monastery in the city of Pechora in 1938 (2 min. 53 sec.).
