Society and Culture: Exhibition "Deliberate choice: to voters about electoral technology" in St. Petersburg

September 5, 2016 in the State Museum of Political History of Russia (St. Petersburg) opens the exhibition "Deliberate choice: to voters about electoral technology".

The exhibition tells the story of advertising technologies in a competitive political struggle and their impact on the minds of voters on the example of promotional materials related to the elections in the Russian Federation. The most interesting and characteristic kinds of promotional products illustrate how the political parties to form their images are pre-election programs, work with the voters, attracting and holding their attention.

Visitors will see the posters with pictures of candidates, leaflets with their biographies, campaign posters, campaign promises and appeals, slogans and logos of political parties, ballot papers and other materials from the museum. Chronologically, they cover the Russian presidential elections in 2012, the State Duma in 2007 and 2011, Mayor and Governor of the Moscow region in 2013, the governor of St. Petersburg in 2014 and members of the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly in 2007 and 2011, as well as some regional elections.

The exhibition opens on the eve of a single voting day, September 18, 2016. After the end of the election campaign in 2016 the exhibition will be expanded at the expense of materials of the latest techniques of campaigning.
