Museums of Russia: Exhibition of works by Konstantin Korovin is presented in the framework of the project "Cultural and Exhibition Centre of the Russian Museum in the regions of Russia" in Kaluga

Until November 13, 2016 in the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts runs an exhibition "Konstantin Korovin".

For the first time in Kaluga is presented a retrospective of works by Konstantin Korovin (1861-1939) - a recognized classic of Russian art, "the first Russian impressionist", the leader of the creative association "Union of Russian Artists", reformer of Russian scenography, artist, defined the vector of development and aesthetic aspirations of the Moscow School of Painting of late XIX - early XX century.

The exposition was formed with 19 paintings and one graphic sheet by Konstantin Korovin in the period from 1890 to the end of the 1910s, 10 of which are included in the collection of the State Russian Museum, 3 artworks - a historical collection of Tula Regional Art Museum and 7 works presented from funds of the Kaluga museum of Fine.

The exhibition is part of a pilot project of the State Russian Museum "Cultural and Exhibition Centre of the Russian Museum in the Russian regions", designed to facilitate the creation of a common cultural and information space in Russia, overcoming the disunity between the capitals of museums, large and small cities, ensure citizens' access to cultural values and information resources, using scientific, methodical, organizational and creative potential of the Russian museum - the largest treasury of Russian fine art.
