Information technology and society: Soviet children’s books of early XX century were digitized at Princeton University

At the Digital Library at Princeton University (the USA) are published 159 children's books of different genres, published in the period from 1918 to 1938. Among the authors whose works are included in the sample are Agnes Barto, Vladimir Mayakovski, Samuil Marshak, Daniil Kharms, Alexander Bezymensky and Leo Kassil.

As stated on the website of the library, each of the selected works - a vivid example of the visual and verbal language of artists and writers of the time. With the help of these books can be traced how explained and showed the state ideology to children and adolescents in the first twenty years after the October Revolution.

Particular attention of library specialists brought items such as a folding book "Five-Year Plan" and "Books of film show" which explains how to disassemble itself and create a homemade projector.
