
History of Russia: Exhibition "From the history of school uniform" opened in Moscow
September 1, the Children's Library № 138 of the South district of the capital hosted the exhibition "From the history of school uniforms", prepared by the Main Archive Department of Moscow. The basis of the exposition is unique documents, photographs, drawings, memoires from the Archive fund of the capital.
Moscow Main Archive project tells about the evolution of uniforms school clothes in Russia over the last two centuries. The exhibition consists of three parts: the Russian school uniform in the XIX century, the form of students and teachers at the turn of XIX - XX centuries and clothing of students since the Soviet Union. Official documents of the two eras tell about uniform changes. The bright part of the exhibition - rich illustrative range, reflecting the tradition of wearing the uniform for two centuries: from dresses of prerevolutionary orphanages and gymnasiums to Soviet costumes.
