International events: Exhibition "Volga and the Yangtze - the Great Rivers of Friendship" opened in Kazan

The National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan (Kazan) took place the opening of the exhibition "Volga and the Yangtze - the Great Rivers of Friendship". The exhibition is held within the framework of the international exhibition of the same name of the project, sponsored by the museum "Lenin Memorial" (Russia, Ulyanovsk) and Hunan Provincial Museum (China).

The purpose of the project - to present the historical and cultural heritage of the peoples inhabiting the basins of two great national rivers - the Volga and the Yangtze, Russia ties China's Hunan Province and the Ulyanovsk region, to encourage cooperation between the regions of the Volga Federal District of the Russian Federation and the provinces of the upper and middle reaches of China's Yangtze different areas, the development of tourism.

As part of the exhibition project were organized exhibitions in the Chuvash National Museum, the P. V. Alabin Samara Regional History Museum, the Museum "Lenin Memorial" (Ulyanovsk), in Nizhny Novgorod in the framework of the forum "Great Rivers (Ecological, hydrometeorological, energy security) " / ICEF. The project will be culminated with the exhibition of Hunan Provincial Museum of China (PRC).

National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan is famous for its collection of Chinese objects. Thanks to the exhibition "Volga and the Yangtze - the Great Rivers of Friendship" was a unique opportunity to show these amazing things. The new exhibition presents a variety of exhibits that reflect the culture of China. A special place is occupied ethnography items, samples of Chinese art crafts, porcelain, religious figurines XVIII-XIX centuries.

The exhibition will run until December 2016.
