Russian language and society: The V Congress of the Russian Society of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature held in Kazan

From 5 to 8 October 2016 in Kazan is held the V Congress of the Russian Society of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature. This year its theme is: "The dynamics of linguistic and cultural processes in modern Russia".

The meeting brought together more than five hundred representatives of fifty-eight Russian regions. Among the participants - teachers of secondary and higher educational institutions, scientists, representatives of the federal and republican authorities.

Within the congress are held breakout sessions and roundtables. The main topics for discussion were the new methods of teaching the Russian language, as well as promoting it abroad. Also there will be discussed issues of literacy and speech culture, youth motivation to read, strengthening the position of the Russian language in the system of pre-university and university training of foreign nationals, and many others.
