
Memorable dates of Russia: Exhibition, dedicated to the 195th anniversary of Fyodor Dostoyevsky, in the Russian State Library
In the department of manuscripts of the Russian State Library (Moscow) was opened the exhibition "Society builds with moral principles" dedicated to the 195th anniversary of Fyodor Dostoevsky. Among the unique manuscripts of the personal archive of classics of Russian and world literature, you can see the relic - the Gospel that accompanied the writer to the last hours of his life, and take a fresh look at the works of Dostoevsky and characters of his books in the light of the Gospel texts.
Gospel for Dostoevsky is the basis of family life, "the acquisition of the spiritual soil" and a treasure trove of the most important things for a writer. Between the pages of the letter were kept letters of his children, outlines with the subjects of future works, "Siberian notebook" with proverbs and sayings convicts and most intimate - dried twig from the grave of his first daughter Sonia.
The exhibition in the department of manuscripts shows how the Gospel affected the world and work of Fyodor Dostoyevsky. The exhibition presents works of autographs "Crime and Punishment", "Demons", "Teenager", "The Brothers Karamazov", fragments of diaries and notebooks of the writer, the first edition of "Humiliated and offended" with the amendments and additions of the author.
Also, visitors will see paintings of Fyodor Mikhailovich in the pages of notebooks, illustrations to the texts of his works, biographical documents, family correspondence - with his wife, Anna Grigorievna and brother Mikhail Mikhailovich. A position of Dostoevsky' as citizen can be estimated from the letters to the publicist and pedagogue Nikolai Petrovich Peterson, editor of the newspaper "Moscow News" Mikhail Nikiforovich Katkov, the poet Nikolai Alexeevich Nekrasov, opponents and supporters.
