Exhibitions: The exhibition "I. S. Turgenev in theater and cinema. Premieres. Dates. Names" is presented in Moscow

November 9, 2016, on the birthday of Ivan Turgenev (the 198th anniversary), at the State Pushkin Museum (Moscow) was opened an exhibition entitled "I. S. Turgenev in theater and cinema. Premieres. Dates. Names" which presents a screen and theatrical life of the great writer. 

The exhibition presents "Turgenev's" productions of Russian theater and cinema in the last hundred years. It involved three museums - the Museum of Ivan Turgenev (branch of the State Pushkin Museum), the Museum of the Moscow Art Theater, the Bakhrushin Theater Museum, more than a dozen major theaters in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Orel, and private collectors.

The material is extremely diverse, bills, posters, programs, set and costume designs, librettos, theatrical and cinema suits, props, working materials of filming, photo and video materials.

Among the exhibits – sketches of theater artists Kardovsky and Dobuzhinsky; sketches by artist Tatiana Bruni for the ballet "The day before"; props of Efros famous play "A Month in the Country" at the Theatre on Malaya Bronnaya Street; autographs of famous directors, interesting works by famous contemporary theater artists. For the first time are presented theater pieces from the private collections of famous artists and actors.
