Internet and Society: New trends of the Internet development were presented at the forum Russian Interactive Week in Moscow

New data media of the consumption statistics, the development of digital literacy and other trends in the industry were presented at the opening of the 9th forum Russian Interactive Week (RIW), which was held in the Moscow Expocentre on 1-3 November 2016.

"The penetration of smartphones and available for them applications and services in RuNet is a year not only comparable with the penetration of personal computers: Russian Internet audience is growing almost exclusively at the expense of mobile users. Total monthly mobile Internet users is about 62 million Russians. In this regard, the user preferences have undergone significant changes in the consumption of content and order of various kinds of services and services. In almost all segments of the mobile component accounts for at least one fourth of the market, and in some segments, such as services and digital content, the proportion reaches 80-90%. The share of users or customers with mobile devices confidently approaching 40%", - noted the director of the Russian Association of Electronic Communications (RAEC) Sergey Plugotarenko during the opening event.

Director of the Regional Public Center of Internet Technologies (ROCIT) Sergey Grebennikov within RIW 2016 presented new data on the results of a recent study of digital literacy Russian users for 2016.

"In 2016, the digital literacy of Russians index rose by 6.3% compared to the previous year and amounted to 5.42 on a scale. The main achievement of growth, I believe, demonstrated subindex digital competences, with 4.48 to 5.27. Its increase is due to the expansion of public programs to attract and training, on which we have worked so hard", - he said.
