History and culture: Rare photographs from the family archive of the Yusupov princes are presented at the exhibition of one painting in St. Petersburg

In the Yusupov Palace (St. Petersburg) was opened an exhibition of one painting from the collection of the State Russian Museum - the first time in the last hundred years in the walls of the family of the Palace on the Moika presented the famous "Portrait of Prince F. F. Yusupov, Count Sumarokov-Elston" (1903, painter V. A. Serov).

Represented ceremonial equestrian portrait of one of the last owners, the Yusupov Palace was made in the best tradition of painting of his time. It is rightly considered to be the most outstanding works of the outstanding Russian painter Valentin Serov. On request, it became part of the famous series of four paintings depicting the family of princes Yusupov.

The exhibition "Unknown Felix" is aimed at drawing attention to the brilliant officer and an extraordinary man, whose name is often mentioned in connection with his son Felix - a party to the plot against Rasputin. Meanwhile, Prince Felix Yusupov, Count Sumarokov-Elston and he is an interesting character and worthy of your time and Russian history in general.

The exhibition also presents photographs from the family archive of the Yusupov princes, including rare ones.
