To the Day of National Unity: The exhibition "We are one, and that is the power" is open in Veliky Novgorod

From 1 to 10 November 2016 in the reading room of the Novgorod Regional Universal Scientific Library is opened the book-illustrative exhibition "We are one, and that is the power" dedicated to the Day of National Unity.

November 4 - the day of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God (in memory of deliverance of Moscow and Russia from the Poles in 1612, which helped people to survive and create great power).

Since 2005, 4 November is celebrated as the Day of National Unity. This holiday is established in honor of an important event in the history of Russia - the liberation of Moscow from Polish invaders in 1612.

Books presented at the exhibition, not only take us back to the distant 1612, the year the country out of the crisis the Time of Troubles, but also tell us about the modern Russian device. The new holiday is intended to remind that the Russians belonging to different social groups, nationalities, religions – are one people with a common historical destiny and a common future.

The whole history of the Russian state shows the importance of national consensus and unity of peoples for the development of Russian statehood.

The exhibition is addressed to all those interested in the history of our country.
