Internet and Culture: The new website presents Bulgarian literary classics

Bulgaria has started to digitize documents, books and other materials from the collections of the Bulgarian masters of the pen, such as Ivan Vazov, Petko and Pencho Slaveikov, Mihalaki Georgiev, Peyo Yavorov, Nikolai Liliev, Hristo Smirnenski, Asen Raztsvetnikov, Elizabeth Bagryana, Fani Popova-Mutafova, Elin Pelin, Nikola Vaptsarov, Dimitr Dimov. They will be presented free in a unique repository of the portal "Bulgarian literary classics - knowledge for all".

The website covers more than 206,000 archival units. This is one of the largest digital platform not only for the Bulgarian literature, but also of the Bulgarian culture. The materials for digitization were provided by Institute of Literature of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, the National Literature Museum and the National Library of the Republic of Bulgaria.

Initially, the electronic catalog has been prepared by the Library of the Bulgarian periodicals until 1944, and then the children's periodicals. Here are presented the works of 13 Bulgarian writers published in children's periodicals. Now the work on the digitization of periodicals for children until 1944 is being continued.
