Society and Culture: Exhibition "Russian impressionist Konstantin Korovin" from the collection of the State Russian Museum in Kazan

November 2, 2016 at the Cultural and Exhibition Center of the Russian Museum in Kazan at the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan is opening an exhibition of paintings by Konstantin Korovin from the collection of the State Russian Museum (St. Petersburg), which has one of the finest collections of works by this artist.

The exhibition presents for the first time in Kazan forty-eight paintings, as well as documents and photographs that represent a broad and diverse panorama of the work of one of the most brilliant Russian artists of the XIX and XX centuries, Konstantin Alexeevich Korovin.

Classics of Russian painting began landscapes by Korovin (at the exhibition in Kazan they are "On the seashore", "The stream", "White Night in Norway" and others), portraits ("Portrait of the artist Feodor Chaliapin", "Portrait of the Actress Tatyana Spiridonovna Lyubatovich" "Self-Portrait") and still lifes of the master ("Lilac", "Rose").

In addition to easel paintings in various genres, the State Russian Museum has a unique collection of monumental mural created for the Russian pavilion of the World Exhibition in Paris (1900). At the exhibition in Kazan are presented the decorative panels "Rocks on the shore of the Sea", "The Birds" and others, as well as sketches of scenery for the ballet and opera.
