History of Russia: Exhibition "Childhood in the Palace" at the Museum-Reserve "Gatchina"

November 1, 2016 at the State Museum-Reserve "Gatchina" will be open the exhibition "Childhood in the Palace".

The exhibition tells the story of child-rearing traditions on the example of the two royal families: Paul I and Alexander III, the longest lived in Gatchina. Between the reign of Paul I and his great-grandson of Emperor Alexander III is a century. What has changed in the life and outlook of this age, and what remains immutable can be seen at the exhibition.

The exposition is based on the Museum-Reserve "Gatchina" funds and is represented by sections, enabling fully reveal the theme of childhood and upbringing in the royal house. Here you can learn about how to baptize children, see the caps and babies shirts, consider the tsar’s toys, and even play games of the XIX century, found differences in the education of sons and daughters and to try to solve the puzzles of the textbook of royal heir or show off the talent on the stage of home theater as did the young grand dukes.

To visitors the exhibition is running from November 2, 2016 to April 2, 2017.
