Internet and History: Virtual exhibition "Moments of OBJECTive history of Russia and Hungary" is presented

The portal "Archives of St. Petersburg" presents a virtual exhibition "Moments of OBJECTtive history of Russia and Hungary". 

Created an interactive resource is designed to increase access to the documentary heritage of Hungary and Russia, to show the importance and effectiveness of international cooperation in the field of archives, as well as to remind that the relations between the states have deep roots and a long history, moments that are cherished by archivists of the two countries. 

Main Archive Department of Moscow to participate in the project provided 60 shots - works by classics of Soviet photography, stored in the Archive Fund of Moscow. Photographs by V. V. Akhlomov, L. E. Bergoltsev, V. B. Sobolev and M. A. Trakhman made in the 60-70s of XX century. Hungary and its capital Budapest - one of Europe's most beautiful cities, inspired photographers to create both individual images and whole series of interesting works, depicting the daily life of the capital city, its architectural landmarks, genre scenes, portraits of townspeople.

Photographs are submitted for the virtual exhibition, at different times were transferred to the authors of the deposit in the Central State Archive of the City of Moscow and became a part of their personal assets.

For the convenience, the project documents are distributed in three thematic sections: "Architecture and streets", "People and everyday life", "International Relations". Within each section images are in chronological order. The images, in addition to the sights and streets of Budapest, Moscow and Leningrad, depict the daily life of citizens in the XX century, culture, sports, politics and science. A separate section of the draft is devoted to international relations and cooperation between the two countries, which, inter alia, contains rare photographs of events involving top officials.
