
Society and Culture: Exhibition "Graphics of Russian and Western European artists of XVII - beginning of XXI century" in Moscow
On December 23, 2016 to January 29, 2017 the Sergei Andriaka School of Watercolor (Moscow) presents the exhibition "Drawings of Russian and Western European artists of XVII - beginning of XXI centuries"-a unique collection of graphic works, as the old masters, and our contemporaries. In total the general fund comprises 269 storage units, among them there are watercolors of Ivan Vladimirov, Alexei Hansen, Carl Goun, Louis Perrin, Alexei Kivshenko, Mikhail Abakumov, Victor Tsyplakov, Alexei Zhabsky, Alexei Kravchenko, prints by Michele Lana, Antonio Crespi, Jean-Baptiste Skotena, etchings by Gabriel Bodenera with images of cities of Europe, Philip Morgen, Bernard Picard, Friedrich Weber, Vasily Mate.
Of particular interest are the drawings of George Vereysky, Vladimir Serov, Fyodor Reshetnikov, portraits, caricatures of Boris Johanson. The drawings of these artists the audience will see for the first time.
The younger generation will be interested in a series of illustrations for the edition of "Tales of Alexander Pushkin" by illustrator Boris Dehterev.
The exhibition presents animal genre too. These are illustration for the magazine "Hunting dog", executed in 1900 by the painter, sculptor, illustrator of the magazine "Murzilka" and animal painter Alexei Komarov.
A separate room is dedicated to the creativity of our contemporary graphic artist, illustrator Anatoly Itkin, where you will see his works with watercolor depicting beautiful landscapes, living still lifes, interiors, as well as illustrations of the story A. Green "Father's anger", a fairy tale by Charles Perrault "Bluebeard", a series of illustrations for the novels of Mark Twain "The Prince and the pauper".
