History of Moscow: Exhibition "Moscow Ring: a new way" opened in the capital
The exhibition "Moscow Ring: a new way" is opened December 20, 2016 at the Museum of Moscow. The exhibition will show how the city has changed with the advent of a new railway line, which has become one of the major events in the life of the capital in the past year.
The basis of the exhibition is original designs from the collection of the Museum of Moscow, on which the first version of the Moscow ring was built in the late XIX century. Among them, engineering drawings and calculations by Peter Rashevsky projects of station buildings by Alexander Pomerantsev and Nikolai Markovnikov - samples of industrial architecture in the style of eclecticism and Moscow Art Nouveau, drawings of railway bridges by Nikolai Belelyubsky and Laur Proskuryakov.
Graphic history will support the train image in motion by artist Cyril Kipyatkov, made especially for the opening of the exhibition. The theme of the modern version of the Moscow Ring series will continue the work of artists.
In the cinema at the exhibition visitors will see a film about the modern Moscow ring on two screens, filmed from a train window.
In addition, the Museum of Moscow for the exhibition specially produced audio version of one of the most popular excursions of City tour desk on the Moscow ring road.
The exhibition uses materials from the ware Fund of the Museum of Moscow and private collections, as well as books, magazines, schedules, posters, postcards and photographs from the Museum's collection in Moscow.
