Internet and Culture: The Network accesses electronic catalog of the regimental march of the Russian Empire

The Internet became available multimedia resource "Regimental march of the Russian Empire. Year 1914", which is music works from the "Compendium of fast marches, approved by the Emperor to be performed at shows and parades in the presence of the highest". This collection was prepared for publication by the Commission to improve the music business in the Army and in the Navy in 1914.

The collection was not to get out of the light of the outbreak of the First World War. And only after 100 years committee materials have undergone a comprehensive study of the Russian Institute of Art History. Results from the research, as well as high-quality digital copies of archival materials are now available to all interested in the format of a multimedia resource "regimental march of the Russian Empire. Year 1914" at the official website of the Institute. The project was created by order of Russian Ministry of Culture in partnership with the Presidential Library and the Admiralty Orchestra of the Leningrad Naval Base running Valentina Lyashenko.

Visitors to the portal can explore digital copies of musical manuscripts, to see photos of regimental bands of the last century and modern, as well as to expand their knowledge of the history of Russia. Each march is accompanied by information about the original title, composer, key, date of creation and preservation of archival materials.
